I have a friend that is married, but dreams about getting back with her ex boyfriend all the time. She says that it means nothing. I totally disagree. This was her first love, and he ended things with her. What do you guys think????
she’s still in love with the ‘thought’ of him. not so much him but even that’s detrimenta; to her marriage becuase there is a piece of her that belongs to someone else. hingering her from ever giving herself to her husband. So, you both are right. the fact that he ended things with her is proof positive that it’s lingering unfinished feelings. if she had broken it off with him, she wouldnt have thought twice about him.

I think people may be misreading your question.
When you’re talking about “dreams” you mean sub-conscious, in-the-middle-of-the-night dreams, right? Because I think most people are reading “dreams about getting back with her” to mean that she fantasizes about it, or daydreams about it. (Get the difference in the meaning of “dreams” I’m trying to put out.)
If these are subsconscious dreams, I don’t think they do mean anything, except perhaps that she may be CONSCIOUSLY thinking about him which triggers more subconscious thoughts, and she’s not telling you about her daydreams…
But people dream weird things all the time. My fiancee dreams about being a close advisor to Barack Obama… why?
Sure the ex was an important person in her life… he could also be a symbol for innocence, or a better time, or a calmer time or a freer time, rather than an actual relationship with him.
I don’t think it means that he’s her one true love or that she sould sacrifice her marriage for it.
