Any doubts about Delhi’s sizeable population of wine lovers were put to rest last weekend as a huge crowd of wine enthusiasts and industry experts descended upon the gala tasting session held at The Imperial to announce the launch of The Wine Society of India in the Capital. Guests were seen chatting or swapping business cards over wines and Cadbury’s chocolates.
But the centre of attraction for the evening was wine legend Steven Spurrier, chairman of the WSI’s board of wine advisors. Also present at the event were David Banford of WSI, Reva Singh, founder and editor, Sommelier India-The Wine Magazine, British high commissioner Sir Richard Stagg with wife Arabella.
