My father has a collection of knives and when I was a child I would always be fascinated by them. Of course, I was never allowed to play with them, but we were allowed to look at them when he got them out for cleaning. He had a varied collection and I was particularly taken with the cold steel knives which to me seemed really exciting at the time. Now that I am older and could buy my own knife, I am not really that interested in doing so.
Obviously having some Buck knives could be useful around the house if any work needed to be done, but I am not interested in collecting them. I guess that I know that I will inherit the collection sometime and I think that because I grew up with it, it is no longer something which I would like to do. I have always thought that the Benchmade knives were the best brand for usefulness and I think that if I was going to buy one that would probably be it, but having never actually used any I am not really a good judge.
